Who we are
Urban Social Services and Advocacy is a nonprofit based in Long Beach, serving people across housing, employment, reentry, mental health, and whole-person care.
What we do
Our community of shared journeys extends compassionate support to marginalized communities through advocacy, dignity, and inclusivity across housing, employment, reentry, mental health, and whole-person care.
Where we are headed
We see a community where shared experience creates bridges of understanding and compassionate support. We aspire to be a steadfast source of holistic care across housing, employment, reentry, mental health, and support services, and a reliable haven that acknowledges, listens to, and uplifts each person as they rebuild and flourish.

Hear from the people we serve
Each of these is a reminder that people are not their hardest season. We share them with permission and with gratitude.
I didn't know where to turn when I was facing eviction. The team at Urban Social Services not only helped me navigate the housing system, but they also provided me with the advocacy and support I needed to secure a safe place for my family. They truly care about their clients.Samantha Combs — Safe and secure housing
Tia, from Urban Social Services and Advocacy makes navigating social services easy to understand. I am a mother to a son with severe Autism. She could tell I was clueless when it came to services. With one phone call, she connected me to a service that offers respite care, giving me a much needed break to focus on my mental health so I can be a better mom. Thank you so much Tia!Connie Rietdyk — Respite care for her son
Thank God I crossed paths with Ms. T Turner from Urban Social Services and Advocacy. She is so cool, always reaching out and asking is there anything I need. She and her squad treat you like family. Not only do they help with job training, they connect you with programs and employers directly — from good food and hygiene items to clothing, bikes, landing a job, or offering career advice.Chamu Luis — Job training and employment support
